PRIVACY POLICY

The United Party of Canada (UP) is committed to protecting your privacy by keeping all the information you provide us secure and confidential.

We do not give out any contact information to 3rd parties other than that which is required by law.

Donor Information: We are filing to become a federal political party governed by the Canada Elections Act, and as such, donor information, like names and addresses, on amounts over $200 will be provided to Elections Canada. 

Members Information: Member’s information will be shared with your local electoral district associations (EDAs) and provincial councils. This information includes, name, address, phone number,  email address and membership details. We encourage you to provide us with updates of your changed personal information.

Email: We provide regular information to those who have requested it via email. Once having subscribed you may unsubscribe by clicking the link provided at the bottom of our emails.

Website: Our website is hosted and managed by APPKIT, who continually monitor and implement the latest updates to ensure that your browsing is safe and secure.

Database: All personal information is managed in accordance with our privacy policy. Our database contains security measures to protect against the loss, misuse, or alteration of the information you have entrusted to us. Any payment details such as banking or credit card numbers are fully encrypted. 

Confidential Information: All UP staff and volunteers are required to protect the confidentiality of personal information. UP volunteers are only given as much personal information as is necessary for them to perform their work. Volunteers are instructed, when they first receive such information, that the information is strictly for UP use only, and cannot be shared with, or used by others.

IP Addresses: We do log IP addresses, or the location of your computer network on the Internet, for systems administration and troubleshooting purposes. We may also use IP addresses for internal analytics purposes to track which pages people visit in order to improve the quality of our website. This does not reveal any specific demographic information about you personally.

Cookies: Like most websites, we do use cookies, which are small text files stored on the user’s browser. For example, we use cookies to assist with site analysis, which includes tracking the time and date of website visits, pages viewed and referring URL’s. There are simple ways to refuse cookies, or accept them each time they are offered.  Consult your browser’s online help for assistance on changing cookie settings or removing cookie files.

Policy Changes: Should our privacy policy be revised, such changes will be published on our website, and notification printed in our next UPdate newsletter.
